Yep, I have read the entire story, and I must say it was unusual reading!

O.k, I want to say well done!

אבל ברצינות אני חושב שלא חסרות לנו כמה וכמה מפלצות , לא בנויות בכזאת רמה כולן , אבל יש בהחלט מכוניות מאוד מרשימות בארץ.

הבעיה היא שכל עוד זה לא חוקי , לא נראה לי שאנשים יקפצו להציג את המכוניות שלהם בכזה פירוט ושיהיה מגזין שיעשה מזה משהו שנתי ולא חד פעמי כמו מפלצות התאוצה בזמנו.

Liviu, instead of the ultimate street car challenge you guys can make a competition called the ultimate sleeper, meaning a car that packs a big punch but you can never tell by looking at it from the outside, seriously, that can be a great one

 

 

With some magazine coverage, you can test it at many of the categories we tested the cars here - base price, car show of sleeperness but yet needs to be ultra clean and shiny, engineering meaning thought behind the mods, not just a bolt-on galore, I'm not sure about dyno or power delivery tests, maybe, you can definitely test the emissions, the grandma test will add a nice flare, driveability is a must, fuel economy is an easy one to test, I'm not sure if a magazine will be able to find a good place for a quarter mile run but no problem testing for standing starts and freeway acceleration like fifty to eighty or eighty to one twenty, braking test can certainly be done, skidpad test can be done, the road course portion can be replaced by a gymkhana test, and to top it off a 30 seconds or burnouts for the photographers, and have all the pictures of the cars photocshopped to remove details like license plate or identifying stickers... easy enough for someone that REALLY wants to get it done

הנה תרגום חלקי של הכתבה למתקשים באנגלית:

 

"קוראים למסלול streets of willow מסיבה מסוימת. הוא למכוניות כביש. תחרות ה-USCC למכוניות כביש חוזרת למסלול הרחובות בן ה-1.5 מייל הזה בפעם הראשונה מזה 3 שנים בדיוק מהסיבה הזאת. שינויי הגובה הגדולים במסלול (120 רגל, כ-40 מטר) הופכים אותו למאתגר במיוחד לכל מכונית. שלבו את זה עם ישורת של 1000 רגל (כ-300+ מטרים), פניות עם זווית כביש הפוכה, והרצון הגדול של כל מתחרה להיות הכי טוב, ויש לנו נוסחה מנצחת למבחן."

 

והחלק על המיאטה:

מוטי, באמת, רק מקום חמישי? דרך אגב, נתוני הדיינו באמת מדהימים. עד 5500 סל"ד יש לה בקושי 300 כ"ס, ובין 5500 ל-6500 היא פשוט משתוללת ומקבלת עוד כמעט 150 כ"ס... עכשיו מובן למה היית צריך כ"כ להזהר...

Check the dyno sheet again, especially between 4700 and 5700... within 1k RPM there's a HUGE 200 HP spike and from 5k to the 8.5k redline you can barely see the RPM needle, it moves THAT fast... all that horsepower that comes so quickly means that it has to get to the ground somehow, during my drive around the track I had to fight that insane power to keep the wheelspin under some control all the time and not spinning out with the power coming on when exiting corners on the gas... that car is insane

 

The funniest part was when the owner, who lives in Texas actually, came a couple days before the challenge to Los Angeles with the car and these were the only two days that I had to learn the car and set it up to my preferences.. on the way we had to be at a magazine photo shoot and that was my only chance to really drive the car outside the traffic to get the feeling for all that power, so we start driving in the mountains following the photographer to the place that he wants to take the pictures at, and the owner of the car, Andrew, is sitting next to me trying to see how I drive... well, after a few minutes he appologized and asked for some mercy, and I'm qouting his own words that he posted on the miata forum - I have never ridden in a car that scared me this bad
