The one on the right isn't a Z06, it is the C6R race car to compete in the American Le-Mans Series (ALMS) in the GTS class

Best of all, I just found out that the cost is going to be less than $60k for base model and about $65k for a nicely equipped one... I'll take the base model, thank you! ..............Think lower weight

Yup, the current generation Z06 has one of the best suspensions around, I have seen quite a few different tests comparing various cars with the Z06 and that things quick around a race track, I'll try to find it, I just saw recently somewhere a test comparing the Porsche GT3 and the Corvette Z06 and the Corvette won... forget about the legends about american muscle cars that are fast only when they go straight, the Corvette Z06 is a monster, I can tell you that it's one of the only cars that can really beat me at the race track 75% of the time and these new ones are going to be even faster

 

By the way, you're not looking at a plastic covering, that black thing in the middle of the motor is actually a composite intake manifold! awesome stuff, I'm telling you
