לא יכלתי להסביר לו את ראשי התיבות של השם

מישהו יכול לעזור לי

 

בחזרה לנושא:

המכוניות באמת מעניינות. אבל ניראה לי שזה אנשים פרטיים עיצבו אותם ועשו להם טיונינג, כי היו שם מלא גיראסאות לA3 ולכל דגם היו די הרבה גירסאות

ערב טוב,

לפי מיטב ידיעתי, את ראשי התיבות הנ"ל, המציאה מי שהמציאה את הז'אנר בכלל-VW.

הכינוי GT היה קיים כבר זמן מה ופשוט נלקח מהארסנל השמות אך ה-I ,Injection,היא תרגום של המילה הגרמנית הזרקה-Einspritung-לכן אל תגיד GTE אמור GTI.

The acronym GTI is exactly as Guy said already - Grand Turismo Injection, derived from the acronym GT... now here's the real meaning of the acronym GT, most people have no idea where it comes from originally

 

 

Grand Turismo, that is translating to The Great Tour, is refering to a journey that was done by the young European Gentlemen when they reach adultery or age group of some sort, normally these gentlemen were coming from reach homes and families and were making the trip across the land for a few months until they come back home full of stories and tales about their trip, with more experience in life and the world surrounding them after they have seen many different places, sounds familiar? yes, people still do that, israelis are actually really good at that, going to see the world after they are done with their military service, it is pretty much the same thing

 

 

So how are cars related to the Great Tour? well, since those young gentlemen were coming from reach families, obviously you have to be reach to afford such tour

, during the past century and mainly after the war, you would have seen these guys travelling in a shiny sporty car, not a tiny asphalt burning sports car normally, but something a little bit bigger, more luxurious, more of a fashion statement... those Grand Tourers got their name from that trend of car choice for these tours

 

 

Examples for true GT cars from our time will be the Jaguar XK8, Lexus SC430 and Ferrari 456GT - notice it's the only Ferrari in the company's line-up with auto gearbox as well? that's because it a real GT car

 

 

So how is the I related to the Grand Tour? the answer is simple - Marketing

VW, that started making the Golf after the last Beetle rolled off the production line in Germany, needed some serious marketing trick to bring the new Golf to the public as the new hot package, they decided to make a sporty model to top the Golf line-up and to call it GT to remind that old flare of luxurious sports car which the Golf was neither and to add the I to make a note that the car is fuel injected, a new technology item for the economy people mover market, whether VW planned or not, they actually created a new market for the hot hatches, the Golf GTI was a great success and the marketing and is still an automotive icon for creating the GTI market, as the combination of these three letters is still commonly used

 

 

Those were 60 seconds about the origin of the acronym GTI, back to the normal program

I was specifically talking about the assembly line in Germany if you didn't notice, that was a long time ago... they were still made in Mexico until recently

החיפושית אכן המשיכה להיות מיוצרת, אך לא בגרמניה.
