I got a private message from one of the forum members regarding a bar for sale in Max Tuning, here's the link -

Here's the deal, even though the guy states that this is for style only and not racing (as if accidents happen only on the race track

), he does call it a roll bar, perhaps because of the lack of name for what is called in English STYLE bar

 

Not only that this is not a roll bar, it is connected only in 2 points to the chassis and can collapse on your head in case of a roll over like a mouse trap, very dangerous.... look back at the pictures I added, the purple miata that the driver got killed in had exactly the same type of style bar

 

.It is not only completely unsafe but also limits the seat travel backwards making it a pretty bad purchase anyway

 

A real roll bar is a one that is connected to the chassis in four different points, normally the seatbelt towers and the rear floor next to the top of the shocks in the trunk

 

There are a few very good models of roll bars in the miata's aftermarket, most are made by a company called Hard Dog, with the best model called Hard Core that comes in two models - with a single diagonal or a double diagonal... the double diagonal is better because the single one sits right in the middle of your rearview mirror, the double clears it pretty well... Hard Dog also makes roll bars for Z3 for those who decided to buy one of them from some kind of reason
