I have my fair share of interest in the outcome too, having all my family in israel, I'd like my dad to join the gymkhana league, my brother to try it out sometime and my little sister to get good motorsports education and try it out too when she's old enough and if you guys get at any point a kids go-kart class I'll be the first one to buy her a go-kart and full racing equipment to compete with (she's 10 years old now), as soon as yesterday

 

.You need to bring the gymkhana to the lawmakers attention so it doesn't get screwed up in the process

 

I'm willing to go with a camcorder to the next autox event here and shoot some videos of how things work and organized... the only thing is that in american autox - unlike UK style autotesting - helmets are required, I have yet to make up my mind if it's a better thing or not since the weight of the helmet can put stress on the neck and the very few times that I've heard about a car that rolled over in an autox, they were all on non DOT approved full racing slicks which should be illegal anyways in your league because of the levels the cars are prepped for... I highly doubt anyone will put that kind of budget for tires aside anyways, these are EXPENSIVE

Here's where I can help out even from million miles away

 

Classing system (seems to me like this is the easiest one to fall into a trap when you start from zero), requirements in tech inspections, rule book - translations and access I'll soon have a hebrew keyboard and be able to help out with that much better

 

Pretty much any issue that may rise... I've been involved in the SCCA autox league for a few years now and welcome you guys to use my experience to make your life easier and the league organized in a more professional manner

מוטי , אולי אתה לא זוכר את זה ... אבל בכל ביטוח רכב כתוב ספציפית סעיף - שהביטוח לא תקף בשום אופן במצב של תחרויות נהיגה.

LOL, Liviu, not only that I remember this very well, I live by it having an un-insured race car... the insurance does apply to driver's education non-timed events, but not for competition of any kind including gymkhana, but I will be more than happy to get an explanation why do you or anyone else here thinks that insurance is required for gymkhana

Oh we're not talking about my car... my car is pretty bad for gymkhana purposes, it is a track prepared car... it comes down to the tires that you'll have on the Camaro, I'm betting a good driver in a bone stock miata with good tires and alignment will surprise you

ברגע שנרים ארוע לכזה מספר גדול של אנשים (100 אמרתם) , וודאי שיהיו בעיות עם המשטרה...לא ?

אי אפשר להרים כזה ארוע ל 100 אנשים ,זה לא יכול לקרות.

לא מבחינה חוקית ולא מבחינה מעשית.

נניח שכל סיבוב יהיה דקה וחצי . שני סיבובים לכל רכב יתנו לך 300 דקות נטו שהם 5 שעות מסלול שהם ברוטו 7, 8 שעות.

עכשיו תראה לי את הבן אדם שיבוא בשביל 3 דקות על המסלול, ישלם 150 שקל (מחיר מופקע לחלוטין דר"א) ויתייבש בשאר הזמן.

זה לא ישים.

אי אפשר לארגן ארוע כזה לכמות כ"כ גדולה של אנשים, מה גם שלדעתי אין כרגע ביקוש כזה גדול לזה.

אם לחברות "הנהיגה המתקדמת" בישראל היה אכפת מהנושא, הם לא היו דורשים עשרת אלפים שקלים בשביל להשכיר את המגרש שלהם ליום אחד.

שלומי צודק. עד 40 אנשים זה ישים. מעבר לזה - לא אפשרי. מניסיון העבר למרות הרבה הבעות רצון מצד כל הגורמים - בסוף מתייצבים לאירוע איזה 20 איש מקסימום, אם יש עלות של כ-100 ש"ח. אנחנו גם לא רוצים אירועי ענק - מאוד קשה להשתלט על המון. זה גם פחות כיף למתחרים. אם מדברים על ג'ימקאנה בלבד - הכי טוב זה עד 40 מתחרים בלבד, קהל מצומצם יחסית, וזהו.

אנחנו מתקשים למצוא מגרש מספיק גדול בשביל ג'ימקאנה נורמלית אחת, אז אתה רוצה לעשות 3?

Rami, you actually do have to do it on the same course because it is a competition and everyone should get their runs on the same exact course... in fact, cars have to run in their respective classes together to even further level the field by having each class running on the same surface tempertures and same ambient temps which is some cars make a big difference than others

The size of the lot you're using is in some way irrelevant unless you have the car repeating on the same route or too close to it on the second half of the run, beyond that single situation, the only thing that matters is the time of the run - a 60 seconds run is a 60 seconds run - regardless if it's done on a two kilometers long course in 120 Kmh or on half the length of the course at half the speed, when you employ a dual timing system, what is it that prevents you from launching a car every 40 seconds? is there any reason for you NOT to do it? sure it requires the timers to pay close attention to what happens but that what efficiecy is all about... my point is, two cars on the same course is really not that complicated, I do not suggest the pace that we run with the automated computerized timing system that SCCA has that allows it to put three - four cars on course at all times, it's only a question of getting used to operate things that way

Again, I perfectly understand the fact that it is currently illegal and that you guys want to keep it quiet in a way, but the interest is here and you might as well prepare the field to have the sport growing fast because it should and it will and that's the way it should be, look at the big picture, in the long run, this is a great thing

 

 

The high performance driving schools are too blind probably to understand that the bigger the crowd will be the more business opportunities they'll get... there is only so much money that you can make out of a small crowd... this is a typical small business owner's thinking... they don't need to sponsor anything and they are obviously businesses that are suppose to make money and not donate their lots for charity, but the price should be 50-75 at most

מסלול קטן שמתאים לפניות בהילוך ראשון ....

אני חושב שהכי חשוב לאירוע טוב -זה מסלול טוב !.
