דווקא המצב השתפר בעניין הזה - מנוע ה3.9 מוציא 240 כ"ס

שזה כמו ה3.0 אירופאית/יפאנית ממוצעת (אפילו הממוצע מתחת ל240 ל3.0).

 

אגב, אם אני לא טועה מנוע ה3.0 הכי חזק הוא של סובארו

עד שיגיע ה258 כ"ס של BMW.

Americans build their cars for the american way of thinking - bang for the buck, meaning how much power fo the money and in that, it is very hard to beat them

 

 

True, the M3 makes 333HP out of a 3.2L but for less than the cost of an M3 you could buy a Corvette that makes 400HP, and you REALLY REALLY don't want to compare the amount of torque between the two cars

The S2000 motor makes the most HP per liter out of any other normal production motor in the world, the car costs about $33k, step into the Ford dealership and find the Mustang GT for $26k with 300HP, or a pontiac dealership which will offer you the new 350HP GTO for $33k... both GTO and the Mustang make far more torque than the S2000, not that it's a big deal, after all, the Honda doesn't make much more torque than a skateboard

 

 

I wouldn't really address the Veyron comment since the car has yet to move an inch under private ownership, the Viper is already sold around the world for well over ten years, not that you would want me to compare prices.... it's all about the bang for the buck... the israeli market is not built for it but that's the way the american market is

Making the most high-tech motors and extracting the maximum possible HP and torque just doesn't matter in the american thinking, bringing a lot of HP for a good price does

 

 

It is very true that on a one-to-one comparison between American motors and European motor the American motors fall flat on their face, but as I said, the direct comparison AS IT IS DONE IN THE US MARKET, is between HP per Dollar and in that comparison there are just no European car or Japanese cars that stand a chance

 

 

- Let me give you an example

- Road & Track magazine conducted a test of 7 sedans in same market segment, here they are with the numbers, note the prices

I'm not saying that the American cars are better cars here, that's not the point at all, I don't even like non of them almost, I'm just saying that this is the American philosophy and that in their own way it makes a lot of sense for the US market, that's all

אתם לא מבינים את הנקודה שמוטי מנסה להבהיר!!!! האמריקאים לא מנסים לייצר מנוע יעיל לעומת הגודל שלו! הם מנסים לתת כמה שיותר כוח במחיר הזול ביותר בכך שהם מגדילים את הנפח זה הדרך הכי פשוטה וזולה להגדיל את הכוח ולכן כאשר בארה"ב אין בעיה של מחיר הדלק כאשר אתה נותן יותר כוח במחיר זול אתה מנצח!
