It all started when I found out that I type ridiculously slow in Hebrew, my primary languge (bursting in tears)... I just want to type faster

My name is Avi (in my case everyone say "yo Avi") and i'm 18 year old.

It all started a few years ago while visiting a sammer camp in Canada, in a matter of two weeks i already started to forget my Hebrew, and once i got back to Isreal there nothing to be done. The Doctor said i got the English flu and in approximatly 3 days time i was to get well.

It has been 3 years since then and i still got the flu.

Hopping to get better

Hello Group, my name is Guy but everyone calls me "Yaros" – my last name.

 

I am 18 years old, and its all started whean i just want to practice my english for the "bagrut" that will come soon.

Its real ennoying to write in english in this forum because its designed for Hebrew so the "Dot" and the comma get real massed up.

I personally prefer typing english on the computer since i have been doing that for like the past 2 yrs now but i type hebrew just as well as english without looking on the k/b nor on the screen

Hello all,

My name is Gil and I am 24 years old, not-so-soon to become 25.

It all began when I started using this annoying* unix system, something like 13 years ago.

I wanted to learn as much as I can about it and everywhere I tried to get answers from (IRC (was very small, filled with geeks and annoying people back then, thinking about it - it still does, only a new group has joined it - "The Lamers"), mailinglist, etc...) I got a similar answer: "RTFM".

So I posted @ alt.unix.help asking people if they know this RTFM, they all laughed at me and told me to go FMS. I was wondering - does "FMS" equivs to EMS, are they supposed to send it via snail mail? this time when I asked the question I was banned from alt.unix.help, they told me that future posts would go straight to /dev/null, I was wondering if anyone ever looks at this /dev/null directory...

After a while I finally understood what this RTFM stands for, so I started reading those fucking manuals and ever since - my English got better and better until I got this odd accent also while speaking Hebrew.

 

Now to the less hilarious (as if the previous was

) and more serios part:

Not only I type faster in English, I am the record holder in my working place:

Normally I type ~500 characters per minute, but the nice thing is that I can type A-Z in just 2.19 seconds, yeah, you read it right, only 2.19 seconds to type - abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

Measured by a simple util a friend has written so it's pretty accurate.

 

So, can you comprehend the frustration of having to type Hebrew here?

3. אם כבר אתם מוכרחים להראות לנו את רמת האנגלית הטכנית המקצועית והיום יומית המהוקצעת , אנא עשו זאת עם מעט פחות שגיעוט ועם הקפדה על אותיות גדולות/קטנות וכו'.

 

4. לפני שאתם מדגימים בפנינו את האנגלית , כדאי שתתאמנו קמעה על העברית. אצל הרוב היא לא משהו...

 

5. נא לא לקחת דוגמא ממוטי , הבן אדם סבל במשך כמה שנים מקיבורדיציס אנגליטיס - מחלה נדירה הפוגעת ביושבי ניכר ודוברי שפת עכו"מ באופן בלעדי.

 

6. הנהלת CF לקחה על עצמה את האתגר לרפא את מוטי ממחלתו הקשה , ודואגת לאספקה שוטפת של אותיות עבריות In mint condition , ישירות אל אונת הכתיבה במוחו.

 

7. נא לחזור ולהשתמש בשפת אבותינו , זה כדאי
