  1. Good thinking - you need the future generation and this is an excellent way to get them interested in classic cars, not just 2001 Citroen Saxo VTi or whatever:lol:, Best, T
T see also this (Fuller): http://forums.aths.org/InstantForum414/Topic66282-14-1.aspx? http://forums.aths.org/InstantForum414/Topic63885-14-1.aspx? Do you have a workshop manual with all the diagrammes (air, electric, etc.) for the Ford - you may want to start a thread on the ATHS, maybe someone has one for sale - it would make your life a lot easier - can help with the English if you want - PM me

Asseto Corse

:roll:No, no no Much betterer... and unfortunately just as expensive nowadays, T
  4. That looks like a Diamond T 969 tow truck, quite likely ex-Egged...T
  5. That's a 1953 GMC 350. There used to be quite a few in Israel - I don't think even one is left on the road. Engine is staright six benzin. Can be registered as rechev asfanut (less than 12T GVW)...T
  6. Thanks Benny - same here. You're right about the 2CV - same ownership for at least 25 years. Once you change ownership and/or return the plate, you get new standard-size European plates and lose the old one... Best, T
  7. Some useful info re. RTO here http://forums.aths.org/InstantForum414/Attachment12804.aspx http://forums.aths.org/InstantForum414/Attachment12805.aspx http://forums.aths.org/InstantForum414/Attachment12801.aspx http://forums.aths.org/InstantForum414/Attachment12802.aspx http://forums.aths.org/InstantForum414/Attachment12803.aspx and much more here http://www.roadranger.com/Roadranger/GLSearchResult/index.htm?ssUserText=12515 Need to find which one is yours... Best, T
  8. Is this truck in Israel? T
  9. Dov, Mammoth Major Mk III . Pictures from here: http://aec.fotopic.net/p36540288.html and here: http://aec.fotopic.net/p40324070.html and the main page is http://aec.fotopic.net/c1210956.html I'm sure the'll love to have the pic of the Yogev one... All the best, T
  10. Don't know about the US ones, the European non-turbo 8V 2.3 fives had btween 133 to 136 hp (see also Reuven's post above). What's it like to drive would depend if it has softer US suspension settings and reduced hp, in which case it would be worse (it may be slightly heavier because of the bumpers). Easy to rectify by changing to Euro specs. T
  11. AEC for sure, looks like the ones the Australians had - some sort of a "colonial" type, but how did it get to Israel? I don't think AEC did regularly export to Israel. Could be ex-Egyptian... T
  12. Falcon - out with the 6 and done as a replica of an Australian GTHO - there will not be another like this in Israel. Oldsmobiles like yours are not that rare... T
  13. I'm 10 minutes away, maybe I'll come and say shalom... You know Tuesday is a holiday here - the TU would be closed I assume? T
  14. Safe trip - TU again? T
  15. Genadi, thanks for the pics -it's nice to see both driver and truck still working after all these years and I hope this will stay like this for a long time! T
  16. Thanks - I'm pretty sure there were some of these but you probably think about the Tronner, which had the same cab as the DAF 95. I think they stopped importing them when IVECO took over Pegaso. Any pics of the Hamenia trucks? By the way, your thread on the ATHS had some responses... All the best, T
  18. http://www.flickr.com/groups/886837@N20/ By the way, the big Dodges the Electric Company had were not D-Series but C-Series, like this. The Air Force had a few also as aircraft refuellers but they used them as target practice for attack helicopters, best regards, T
  19. and one SD455 many, many years ago if I'm not mistaken
  20. That's Dov Reemon and he's 80, not 70, and I'm pretty sure he has normal truck insurance, even though nowadays he only works in Ashdod - I think what Dov (Kerdo) and Genadi are looking for is something which does not exist in Israel at the moment (but hopefully they will find an OK insurace agent who will be prepared to help). T

    dodge coronet 53

Good point and... Possibly an Early Hemi under that hood. You seem to know most of the serious US cars baaretz - are there any Chrysler 300 in Israel? T
  22. It's a miricle - like the time tunnel - suddendly it's 1975 again (I wish). by the way, anyone who has ever been to Central and South America must have seen these old Dodges at work still - just one example Much more here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/dodgeheavytrucks/pool/ T
  23. That's a T815, the spares are avaialable in the Czech Republic for reasonable money and the engine is not electronic so at least most of the work is do-able by normal human beings... Who knows? My uncle managed to use them for years but he bought one or two extras for spares, T PS: Last one he had was like this 148 - pic from the net
  24. and a few DAFs From an excellent Dutch site for those who like dump trucks http://members.home.nl/sluik/klassiekers.htm T
  25. Want to find out more? See here (threads statrt on the last page, from bottom to top) by the way, you can join the ATHS forum, hahaha (now you have an American truck): http://forums.aths.org/InstantForum414/Topic59051-4-1.aspx? http://forums.aths.org/InstantForum414/Topic57687-4-1.aspx? T
