Hello, new guy here. I bought this TV in the 55" size a couple weeks ago. There was a persistent *snap, crackle, and popping* sound coming from the back of the TV. It was quite noticeable, and I'd hear a pretty good *pop* every 10-60 seconds. I found that unplugging all the inputs to the TV did NOT fix the issue. I even found that the popping would sometimes continue even after the TV was unplugged. I exchanged the TV at Costco for the same model, and the new TV is doing this, too. I have not found any reports of this online anywhere. Does anybody have any idea what to do? I contacted Samsung, and all they did was send a USB thumb with the latest firmware, which I already had downloaded via the internet. I love the TV otherwise, but this is a deal breaker. Thanks for any help.
Hey, all. Just updating my status in regards to the popping noises. A few weeks ago I posted here talking about the issue occurring every time I’d turn theTV on and off. I did a swap about three weeks ago and now I’m on my third 55” NU8000. The third TV was completely quiet for the first week, however after that period the noises began again in exactly the same manner. At this point I feel completely defeated. I think ultimately it is a heat expansion problem since I don’t believe I’ve had 3 defective TVs in a row. It just frustrates me that something like this has been overlooked by Samsung and they still haven’t made any official announcements. I looked into the Q6FN as an alternative, but it seems like the same issue persists on that series (they share the same back panel). I’m slowly starting to just accept the noises as a normal occurance, but it feels wrong to have to settle after spending nearly $1000. I’m looking into the Vizio P55-F1, since the Sony X900F is out of my price range, but I’ve been seeing a lot of uniformity issues with the Vizio. Not really sure what I’m going to do, but Thankfully Costco offers a 90 day return policy.
