Hi I had a 1985 MKII 16V turbo that was great fun, I loved this car When I bought it is as an 8v motor so I did the engine swap Its a great car to play with but it was getting old I cant tell you which one is better the MK I or II, they are both great rides but the MKII is a little younger and that very important, it was also considered by many VW fans as the best Golf ever combining fun ride light weight and still a very practical car for the daily driver later on they got more and more extra FAT (VR6 etc Parts for this car are also very easy to get and usually not to pricy Golan
