  2. Hi Liad, As I told you this engine was imported from Englad and run only couple of thousand KM since new (restoration) . When istalling the new engine the Carbs remained untouched and therefore it is more than reasonable that they are in bad shape Don't rush into engine restoration!!! Dani

    Lots Of Troubles, Usually Serious

Sorry for joining the party so late, as a seller I can only say that it was a pleasure to say goodbye to the Lotus knowing that it goes to a good home. Liad, again I wish you good luck, and when I get home if I'll find the contact detail of a UK "zamot" producer I'll send them to you. .
  6. Hi, Although the I did not sell the car yet I have Gentelman's agreement with a buyer for 30,000 Shekels this is the price I've asked and there were MANY in people interested which leads me to believe that I have under valued my car. How did I come the price? 2500 £ in the UK for rough condition Elan + plus import and tax cost equals to 30K shekels Good night Dani

    Classic Cars in Israel

Hi Kobi, Thank you for your prompt answer, just as I remeber you The convertible Citroens and the Alfa are very prestigues cars today. I promise, I'll get Hebrew Keyboard as soon as I come for a visit Dani
  18. Hi ilan, I have no intention to set a criteria for classic car, I love the Abarth with no ifs and buts therefore for me me its the ultimate classic no matter if it is classified as classic or not. I saw a thread in this forum discussing if Austin Marina is a classic.if one day there will be only two marina's left in the world for sure it will be a collectors item and therefor a classic, on the other hand if someone gave his first kiss at the drive-in in the back sit of a Marina and as result he adores the cars let it be it! I was happy to see that Susita Kubia is now a collectors item , I live in Czech Republic and the same happens here Skoda's from the 70th are starting to be collectors item too but you will not see them in Bonhams Auction in the next fifty years does it mean that they are not classics? no way . In other words I think we agree ! Shabat Shalom
  19. See below list of cars I remember seeing in Israel from childhood till today including place and time last seen, does any of you know were the cars are today: - Citroen DS 21 Cabriolet: last seen in Hamasger Street (year~1983)with giant Pontiac Firebird sticker on the Hood...L (very expensive car) - Amphicar (looks like DKV 1964): last seen (~1970)in car dealer in Zabotinsky Street going uphill to Gimnasia Herzelia on left side currntly there are 2 appartmentbuildings there. - Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTC convertible: in the 70 used to park in Rembrant street Tel Aviv in the80th it was spotted in the parking lot of Beit Bechor in Ramat Gan near Cinema Rama (desirable car today) - Mercedes Pagoda: Used to Park in (~1980) Zabotinsky between Dizingof and Sokolov Tel Aviv - Mini Jeep: Used to Park in Ben Yehuda and corner of Zabotinsky Tel Aviv. - MGA: In 1980 I tried to buy it from a guy that lived Near Derech Hayam in Haifa. - MGB GT: I owned it and it was bought by Guy called Dani (1986) that parked it for long time underhis house in Shderot Chen Tel Aviv. - Triumph TR4: Saw it in garage in the north part of Eilat (~1980) the garage owner told me that someone that did not pay left it there. - Studebaker Stretched Convertible: I have last seen it (~1970)in scrap yard oposite Abu Cabir Jail, I believe it is the only example in the world build in Israel for Zalman Shazar or his follower. - Ferrari Replica: Last seen in the Bnei Dan Street between Bar Yehuda Bridge and Peer Cinema in tel Aviv. It looked like Ferrari Daytona but it had an Amerian Engine and dashboard. - Mercedes Convertible yellow (maybe prewar): Last seen (1972) in the Bnei Dan Street between Bar Yehuda Bridge and Peer Cinema in tel Aviv - MGB 1964 red : I owned it and sold it in 1985 to guy in Rechovot called Moshe Bakshi. - MGB 1976 yellow (rubber bumber) I owned it and sold it in 1988 to guy called Sides (I don’t remember his first name) - Austin Healey Frogeye: Last seen (~1980) in Skolov street between Arlozorov and Zabotinsky Tel Aviv - Sabra: was parking for long time in “Rechev Israely”in Yafo - Citroen Traction Avant Cabriolet: I dont remeber when I saw it last but I think it belonged to the owner of Caravan night club in Yafo. (maybe I am wrong with the type too) - Panhard: in the 60th there many in even in pickup truck version are ther still any?
  20. Shay. You have bought yourself a great car that provides wonderfull fun ride. Although most of us are not millionairs but modest classic car fans, money should not be the only criteria!!! As for the A112 Abarth being a classic or not, the question is irrelevant what matters is what you feel. and just for the record: its a matteer of time till it will be desired classic. Have Fun - Dani Berger
