2 years ago i did in boston ,you need : id\american passport,profe of adress invoice that you paid for the test and social security card you go to the dmv(misrad ha rishoi) do the theory (not easy at all alot of questions of crimes and the punishment on them) on the comuter, you know on spot if you passed or not. when you pass you need to set a date for a test. you dont need to get any lessons, you must have a persone with american drivers license for at least 2 yaers. if you pass the test thats it in boston the tester was a state police cope that came with his police car and the uniform, at the biginning it was a funny\scary sight good luck

so many differant things that will have influanc on this subject a personal experiance that i had.x when i had astra gsi i did this kind of a test with a very very nice gentelmen with imoreza gt, among the friend his nick name is colin mcray we did tests in 2-4 gears in differant speeds, to my amazment couple of times my astra gsi was very close to the gt, of course after couple of secounds he disappered but that shows exactly what u r talking about....x p.s colin knew that in couple of gears we gonna be close....x
