Thanks T-Roy Thanks to everyone for your replies and for confirming what I've been thinking since I seen the car on the net. The owner is dreaming if he thinks he'll get 15k for the car. I may pay up to 5k but that would be maximum and only because the car drives and has a test. I 've still not been down to see the car yet but thought about arranging that soon but wanted to see what you guys thought first. The Mk2 Escort was my first car, 25yrs ago, in Scotland. I've forgotten a lot about the work I done on that car and now I want to restore a Mk2 but I'm not sure how easy it would be to change an auto box to a manual and how easy it would be to find a manual box in Israel. If anyone knows of any Mk2 Escort that is for sale, I'd be very grateful to know. Thanks again guys, Tony

Hi everyone. First of all sorry for my lack of Hebrew. I've only been here 10 years and although I can speak Hebrew and read pretty well, my writing is shocking I've seen this Mk2 Escort on the net and the guy is looking for 15,000 sheckels for it. From some of the pics he sent me it looks to have been badly painted and patched in a couple of places but overall the car looks sound and looks in good condition for a refurbishment .I wanted to ask from you guys what you thought was a fair value for it?

I'm seriously looking for a 2 door Mk2 Escort for a project. Would prefer a 1.6 but will consider anything if the price is right!
